The Poster:

I like to have my students start their filmmaking process with making a poster, even before all of the story and design decisions are final. Something to hang on the wall that is so lovely it drives you to make that film. If the look of the film changes from the poster, thats fine, but in the process of trying to achieve an impressive poster you tend to bump up the quality of everything that is produced afterwards.
